TikiMaster.com was started in 2003 when Jerome and his wife visited the Stadium Swap Meet and purchased seven tikis from a local vendor. Jerome promptly listed and sold these tikis on eBay. With his new found success, Jerome began working with local carvers from the International Market Place and a local company that imported tikis from Samoa to build and diversify his inventory. During this time Jerome continued to work his computer technology job during the day and at night he was beginning the launch of TikiMaster.com out of his home. From 2003 – 2005 Jerome ran TikiMaster.com out of a spare room in his house, which eventually spread into two sheds and the garage. Also, during this time Jerome weaned the business from eBay onto his own website TikiMaster.com. In early 2004, Jerome decided to take the risk and plunged into TikiMaster.com full time, leaving the high-tech corporate world behind.
In late 2004, Jerome took his first trip to Indonesia with his father and business mentor, to explore importing tikis and other carvings. In 2005 Jerome moved TikiMaster.com to a warehouse in Makaha where his mother and father helped him with the daily operations of the business.
After driving everyday for two years to Makaha (this kept his overhead low) from Kailua, Jerome decided it was time to move the business closer to home (2007) so that he could spend more time focusing on growing the business and more time with his family.
